Smoking/food/drink/weapons/roller blades/roller skates are not permitted in
the library.
Noise must
be kept to a minimum; excessively loud conversation or other deliberate
noise-making will not be tolerated; radios, cassette or CD players that are
audible to patrons (even with the use of headphones) will not be permitted.
Use of cell
phones is not permitted in the library at any time.
Use of
electronic equipment (with the exception of laptop or notebook computers) or
electrical appliances is not permitted in the library.
Use of
cameras or recording equipment is not permitted in the library at any time
without prior consent from the Library Director.
Library
computer use is limited to electronic retrieval of appropriate material
(word-processing, personal software, or the access of pornography are
inappropriate uses).
Library
telephones are for the use of library staff only and may not be used by
patrons. (A courtesy telephone to access the Sarasota campus and other USF
campuses is available for use.)
Proper attire is required
of all library users at all times.
Appropriate behavior and
language is expected of all library users at all times.
Children under the age of
16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Library users must
cooperate with library staff and security personnel when asked to do so.
Library
users may not post signs or notices anywhere except on the two exterior
bulletin boards.
With the
exception of emergencies, library users may only exit the building at the
main exit; library users and classroom students are expected to immediately
vacate the building when the fire alarm sounds.
Library
users may not tamper with electronic equipment; move, rearrange or remove
furniture or art objects; damage or destroy any part of the collection.
All
materials must be properly checked-out at the Circulation Desk before being
removed from the library.
Group study
rooms are for groups of 3 or more for the sole purpose of academic pursuits;
use is limited to 2-hour periods.
No part of
the library or classrooms may be used for commercial enterprise; no part may
be used to conduct classes or meetings without the consent of the Library
Director.
Harassment
of library patrons or staff will not be tolerated.
University
of South Florida and New College students, faculty and staff have priority
in the use of all library facilities.
